Scale and series

This 1/25 scale AMT model kit reproduces the 1965 Plymouth Barracuda as part of the Craftsman Plus line. It is intended for adult hobbyists who enjoy detailed plastic assembly projects. The kit contains 67 parts moulded in white with chrome plated small parts and double sided pad printed tires. Paint and cement are required to complete the model.

Before ordering

Check that you have modelling paint and plastic cement on hand because neither is included in the box. The skill level is rated 2 so some prior experience with scale model assembly is recommended. Verify you have a clean work area and basic tools such as a hobby knife and sandpaper for removing parts from sprues. The kit is brand new in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging.

Build context

Assembly yields a static display model with an engine plate, sideview mirrors, black vinyl tires and a choice of two wheel styles. Colorful decal artwork adds authentic detailing to the finished Barracuda. The vintage style packaging makes it suitable for collectors who value period presentation. No batteries, electronics or additional accessories are needed beyond standard modelling supplies.

Questions about this item

Does the AMT1431M kit include paint and glue, or must they be purchased separately?

Paint and cement are required but not included in the box; you will need to buy modelling paint and plastic cement separately before starting assembly.

The kit is labelled Craftsman Plus Skill 2 — does that mean it suits a beginner or an experienced modeller?

Skill 2 indicates an intermediate level; it is aimed at hobbyists who have built a few kits before and are comfortable with 67 detailed parts and chrome-plated small parts.

What will the finished 1965 Plymouth Barracuda model measure in 1/25 scale?

At 1/25 scale the completed Barracuda represents the full-size 1965 car reduced to roughly one twenty-fifth of its original length, width and height.
