Product Identity

This 1/18 scale diecast model replicates the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Ambulance in a weathered red and white "Malibu Beach Rescue" livery. It features removable surfboard accessories, opening hood, doors and rear gate, plus steerable wheels and rubber tyres. The detailed interior, engine compartment and chassis make it suitable for adult collectors and hobby enthusiasts seeking a limited-edition display piece.

Upgrade Context

The model replaces earlier AMT kit versions by delivering a factory-assembled, officially licensed replica with sun-faded paint, period-correct baby moon hubcaps and emergency flashers. The jump is worth it for buyers who want accurate roof brackets holding both a longboard and a mid-sized hybrid board without the effort of building and painting a kit themselves.

Installation Notes

No assembly is required; the model arrives in its original unopened packaging ready for display. The only common issues are the small removable surfboards, which can be misplaced during handling, and the multiple opening panels that may need gentle alignment to close flush after inspection.

Questions about this item

How much space does the 12-inch long 1/18 scale model need on a display shelf?

The model measures approximately 12 inches long, 3.5 inches wide and 3.5 inches high, so allow at least that footprint plus a small margin for the removable surfboards.

What is the correct way to steer the front wheels without snapping the linkage?

Turn the wheels gently by hand at the tyre; the steerable front wheels are connected to the detailed chassis linkage and forcing them from the roof or body can damage the mechanism.

Do the rubber tyres or the weathered paint need any periodic care to stay presentable?

Keep the model away from direct sunlight to limit fading of the weathered finish, and dust the real rubber tyres with a soft brush; no oils or protectants are required.
