The Autonics E40S6-2000-3-N-24 is an incremental rotary encoder delivering 2000 pulses per revolution. It uses an NPN open-collector output and operates from a 12-24VDC supply with a maximum ripple of 5%. The unit has a Ø6 mm shaft, a radial cable connection and an IP50 protection rating.

Motion-control feedback vs absolute positioning

This encoder suits servo drives, stepper systems and PLC counters that need quadrature feedback for speed or position control. It is not for applications that require absolute position retention after power loss, single-turn absolute data or a serial interface such as SSI or BiSS.

300 kHz maximum response frequency
