A 5-digit LED panel meter with 16 operation modes measuring frequency, speed, time and count from 0.0005 Hz to 50 kHz on 100-240 VAC power
The Autonics MP5W-42 is a digital panel meter designed for electricians and maintenance engineers who need to monitor process signals in a control cabinet. It accepts voltage or no-voltage inputs and covers sixteen selectable operation modes including frequency, speed, time and length measurement.
This unit fits panels that require one compact read-out with a 14 mm red LED display showing values from -19999 to 99999. Buyers who need simultaneous multi-channel logging, data export or a larger colour display should look at a different class of instrument.
The meter operates directly from 100 to 240 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz, so it can be wired into standard mains-fed panels without an extra low-voltage supply. If the cabinet only provides DC power, this model will not work.

The meter requires a standard 1/8 DIN panel cut-out; verify the exact millimetre size in the Autonics datasheet before cutting.
Connect the sensor to the no-voltage NPN terminals and set the input mode accordingly; the common error is leaving the PNP voltage-input setting active.
The red 14 mm LED display and the internal power supply (100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz) are the parts most likely to require service after years of operation.
