Compact Desk Footprint

Dual Display Layout
A primary 2.8 in. colour screen at 320 x 240 pixels carries four buttons with dual-colour LEDs, while a secondary 2.3 in. colour screen at 160 x 240 pixels adds six more illuminated buttons. Four context-sensitive soft keys and fixed keys for hold, transfer, conference and redial keep frequent actions within reach during sustained call handling.
Wideband Audio Clarity
Wideband audio is supported on both the handset and an attached headset, and the full-duplex speakerphone allows natural two-way conversation without clipping. A message-waiting indicator and a mute indicator with optional mute alerting provide clear visual status during extended use.

Questions about this item
Does the Avaya J159 phone run warm or draw much power when left on all day?
The Avaya J159 is powered over Ethernet, so it draws only the few watts allowed by the PoE class and produces no noticeable heat during continuous operation.
What must I already have on my network for the J159 to power up and register?
You need a PoE-capable switch or injector and a configured SIP server or Avaya communication manager; the box includes no external power supply.
Can I keep using my older analogue headset with the J159?
The handset and headset ports are standard RJ-9 wideband audio jacks, so any compatible analogue headset with that connector will work.
