Purpose and compatibility

The Avaya JEM24 Expansion Module adds 24 red and green programmable buttons to compatible IP phones. It is designed for users who need quick access to additional lines, speed-dial contacts or feature keys on a single device.

Button capacity and module limit

Each module provides 24 dual-colour buttons and up to three modules can be attached to a supported phone. This fixed capacity determines whether the expansion meets the call-handling volume required.

Installation notes

The unit connects to the expansion port on the Avaya J169 or J179 IP Phone and draws power from the phone itself. No separate power supply or software licence is needed, but the phone firmware must support the additional modules for all buttons to function.
