USB 3.0 Bi-Directional Switch

The AVer DPR-002 is a USB 3.0 bi-directional switch that lets two computers share one USB peripheral or one computer share two USB peripherals. It supports data rates up to 5Gbps and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. A physical button with LED indicators handles switching between the connected hosts. No drivers are required for Windows, Mac OS or Linux.

Host ports and peripheral type

Verify that each computer has a free USB 3.0 Type-A port for the included cables and that the peripheral you intend to share uses a USB Type-A connection. The switch does not carry video signals, so it cannot replace a KVM for monitor sharing. Ensure the attached device draws power from its own supply or the host port, as the switch passes data only.

Replaces manual cable swapping

This unit replaces the need to physically unplug and replug USB devices when moving between two workstations. The upgrade is worth it when you regularly share a printer, scanner, webcam or storage drive between two desktops or laptops and want instant, driver-free switching. It is not suited for users who need simultaneous access from both computers or who require video switching.
