Legacy-to-HDMI Converter

The AVer V321A converts composite RCA video and audio into an HDMI signal so older game consoles, VCRs or DVD players can be shown on a modern television or monitor. It accepts PAL, NTSC 3.58, NTSC 4.43, SECAM, PAL/M and PAL/N standards and outputs either 720P or 1080P at 60 Hz. No drivers are required; the unit is powered from a 5 V USB source. The converter is aimed at owners of legacy AV equipment who need a simple bridge to current displays.

One-Way Signal Path

The device only works from RCA to HDMI; it cannot pass an HDMI source to an RCA display. 3D and 4K signals are not supported and the converter does not enhance the original picture quality. A 5 V 1 A power supply must be connected for the unit to operate. If no image appears the 720P/1080P switch on the side should be toggled. The package includes an HDMI cable and a Micro USB cable but not the power adapter.

1080P 60 Hz Output Ceiling

The maximum resolution the V321A can deliver is 1080P at 60 Hz, so any source that requires higher resolutions or refresh rates will not be displayed correctly. Buyers who need 4K passthrough, HDR or bidirectional conversion should look elsewhere. The converter handles standard-definition composite inputs only and is limited to the 720P or 1080P output modes selected by the physical switch.
