Heavy-Duty Vinyl Binder for Extended Use

The Avery 79985 is a heavy-duty vinyl ring binder built for extended use in office or reference environments. Its black DuraHinge construction resists tearing at the spine edge, and the EZD ring design provides up to 50 percent more capacity than a same-size round ring. The one-touch mechanism opens, closes and locks the rings in a single step.

Gap-Free Ring Alignment and Locking Mechanism

The Gap Free feature keeps the rings aligned so pages turn smoothly without catching on misaligned gaps. The locking EZD ring stays securely closed during transport or when the binder is stored on its side, preventing accidental page loss. Together these features reduce the frustration of jammed rings and torn holes that occur with standard round-ring binders.

Simple Setup with One-Touch Operation

No tools or assembly are required; the binder is ready to use straight from the box. The one-touch lever lets you open, close and lock the rings with one hand, so loading documents takes seconds. The only common issue is overfilling beyond the 1-1/2 inch capacity, which can strain the hinge and prevent the lock from engaging fully.

Questions about this item

Will the EZD ring mechanism need lubrication or replacement after heavy daily use?

The One Touch mechanism opens, closes and locks in one step and the Gap Free feature keeps rings aligned, so no routine lubrication or ring replacement is expected.

What stops me from adding more sheets once the binder is full?

The locking EZD ring design provides up to 50% more capacity than the same size round ring, so the 1-1/2 inch ring diameter is the hard limit.

Does the vinyl cover get hot or sticky when the binder sits on a desk all day?

The tear-resistant DuraHinge vinyl stays flexible and does not soften or become tacky under normal office temperatures.
