Avocent ACS4-DAC Cyclades ACS4 Quad-Port 1U Rack-Mountable Device Server

Product Identity

The Avocent ACS4-DAC is a Cyclades ACS4 quad-port device server built for 1U rack mounting. It provides serial console access to network equipment through four dedicated ports and a single PC Card expansion slot. The unit operates on 10 Mbps Ethernet and 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet links. It is supplied in new condition.

Fit And Limits

This console server suits administrators who need out-of-band management for up to four serial devices in a standard rack. It is not suited for environments that require Gigabit network speeds or more than four managed ports. Buyers who need more storage or additional expansion slots should look at other hardware.

Deciding Specification

The four-port serial count combined with 10/100 Ethernet connectivity determines whether this unit matches the management network design. If the infrastructure demands faster uplink speeds or a higher port density, this model will not meet the requirement.
