SKU CH-2Y29-R9RK3 MPN HDDGU3-PRO-3TB-PS

A 3 TB 7200 RPM desktop drive pre-formatted for PS4, PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro adds 3000 GB of game storage over USB 3.0 without opening the console

  • 3 TB capacity stores large game libraries
  • 7200 RPM spindle speed loads levels quickly
  • 64 MB cache smooths data transfer
  • USB 3.0 interface connects directly to PS4
  • Pre-formatted for PS4 file system works instantly

PS4-ready 3 TB external drive

The Avolusion HDDGear Pro ships pre-formatted for the PS4 file system so it works immediately with PlayStation 4 Original, PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro consoles. No case opening or software setup is required; the drive simply plugs into a front USB port and appears as extended storage.

USB 3.0 interface at 7200 RPM

The single specification that determines fit is the USB 3.0 connection combined with a 7200 RPM mechanical drive and 64 MB cache. This provides the throughput the console expects for game installs and capture files, while the 3000 GB capacity adds substantial room for large libraries.

Tool-free plug-and-play install

Connect the supplied cable to any front USB port on the console and format once from the settings menu — no screws, enclosures or driver discs are involved. The fan-less chassis runs silently, but the drive requires its own power adapter, so a free mains socket near the console is necessary.

Questions about this item

How much game storage does the 3000 GB capacity actually add to my PS4?

The drive is pre-formatted with the PS4 file system so the full 3000 GB appears immediately as usable space for games, saves and media once you plug it in.

What transfer ceiling does the USB 3.0 interface impose on this 7200 RPM drive?

USB 3.0 caps sustained throughput at roughly 5 Gbps, which is well above what the internal 7200 RPM mechanism can deliver, so the drive itself remains the bottleneck.

Will the enclosure fit on the PS4 Pro’s rear USB ports without blocking the adjacent HDMI socket?

The desktop-style chassis is designed to sit beside the console; its cable reaches the rear ports cleanly and the housing does not overhang the HDMI output.
