PS4 Storage Expansion

This Avolusion HDDGear Pro drive adds 6000 GB of storage to PlayStation 4 Original, Slim and Pro consoles. The 7200 RPM mechanical drive with 64 MB cache arrives pre-formatted with the PS4 file system so it works immediately after plugging into a USB 3.0 port. No case opening or software setup is required.

Console Gamers Needing Simple Capacity

The drive suits PS4 owners who want more space for games, saves and media without internal installation. It is not for players who need the faster load times of an internal SSD upgrade. It is also not for anyone whose primary device lacks a USB 3.0 connection or who requires a drive formatted for a different operating system out of the box.

USB 3.0 Plug-and-Play Interface

The single specification that decides compatibility is the USB 3.0 connection combined with the factory PS4 formatting. If your console has a free USB 3.0 port the drive will be recognised instantly; if you need a different interface or a blank drive for custom formatting this model will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

Does the box include the drive, cables and power supply so I can plug it in straight away?

The drive ships pre-formatted for PS4 with a USB 3.0 cable and external power adapter included — connect it to the console and it is ready to use.

Should I choose the 6 TB 7200 RPM version or a smaller capacity for my PS4?

The 6 TB 7200 RPM model gives the largest game library space and the fastest spindle speed in this range; smaller capacities drop to lower RPM and less cache.

What does the 7200 RPM figure mean for real game loading on my PS4?

The 7200 RPM spindle and 64 MB cache reduce seek latency, so large open-world titles load levels and stream assets noticeably quicker than with slower drives.
