Aqua OM4 Multimode Cable

This Axiom fibre optic cable provides a 13.12 ft duplex link with MPO female connectors on both ends. The aqua jacket identifies OM4 multimode glass with a 50/125 µm core and cladding. It is built to RoHS environmental standards and carries a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer.

Installers needing a pre-terminated OM4 trunk

The cable suits data-centre technicians who require a ready-made 4-metre OM4 run between patch panels or transceivers. It will not help anyone who needs single-mode fibre, LC or SC connectors, a different core size, or a length other than 13.12 ft.

50/125 µm core decides OM4 bandwidth

The 50/125 µm geometry is the single specification that determines whether this cable supports the modal bandwidth your link requires. Verify that your equipment expects OM4 multimode performance before ordering.

Questions about this item

Will the MPO ferrules need periodic cleaning to maintain low loss?

Yes, the 50/125 µm end-faces should be inspected and cleaned with a lint-free wipe and isopropyl alcohol before each connection to prevent contamination.

What limits the usable bandwidth of this 13.12 ft OM4 link?

The 50/125 µm multimode fibre and MPO connectors determine the modal bandwidth; the cable itself is passive and adds no active limitation.

Does the aqua jacket or MPO housing add measurable heat during continuous operation?

No, the cable is completely passive with no electrical components, so it generates no heat and draws no power regardless of how long it runs.
