What this transceiver is

The Axiom SFP GPON OLT B+ transceiver operates at 2.4Gbs downstream and 1.2Gbs upstream over a single SC simplex connector. It is built for 20km reach and comes preconfigured with an application-specific code for 100 compatible OEM operation in Cisco routers and switches.

What to verify before ordering

Confirm the host equipment accepts an SFP form factor and supports GPON OLT B+ optics at the stated data rates. Ensure the link budget matches a 20km single-fibre run and that the SC simplex patch cord polarity aligns with the module’s transmit and receive wavelengths.

Who this suits and who it does not

This module suits network engineers extending GPON access to 20km on Cisco or multi-vendor OLT platforms that require coded SFP optics. It does not suit buyers who need a different reach, a dual-fibre connector, or a non-GPON protocol such as Ethernet or Fibre Channel.

Questions about this item

What is included with the Axiom SFP GPON OLT B+ transceiver and what must be purchased separately?

The transceiver module itself is supplied; a compatible SC simplex single-mode fibre patch cord and a Cisco switch or router with an open SFP slot must be sourced separately.

Which data-rate version should I select for a GPON OLT B+ link?

This module operates at the fixed GPON OLT B+ rates of 2.4 Gbps downstream and 1.2 Gbps upstream; no other speed option exists for this part.

What does the 20 km distance rating mean when the transceiver is installed in a live Cisco chassis?

It guarantees error-free operation over a standard single-mode fibre span up to 20 km, provided the link budget and connector loss stay within the GPON OLT B+ specification.
