Axiom 2.5 inch enterprise SSD with hot-swap tray

Axiom

Axiom SSDEP40IC960-AX 960 GB 2.5" Sata 256-bit encrypted enterprise SSD

SKU CH-ZB3C-QPKVN MPN SSDEP40IC960-AX

2.5-inch SATA enterprise SSD with 960 GB capacity, 256-bit AES encryption, hot-swap support and up to 520 MB/s reads

  • Hardware encryption protects data with 256-bit AES
  • Hot-swap design enables drive changes without downtime
  • Sequential reads reach 520 MB/s over SATA 600
  • Sequential writes sustain 485 MB/s for heavy workloads
  • 960 GB capacity fits enterprise storage arrays

Encrypted enterprise SATA SSD

The Axiom SSDEP40IC960-AX is a 960 GB 2.5 inch solid-state drive built for server environments. It uses a SATA 6 Gb/s interface and includes hardware-based 256-bit AES encryption. The drive is hot-swappable and carries RoHS environmental certification.

Suited for secured server storage

This drive fits administrators who need encrypted, hot-swappable capacity in a 2.5 inch SATA bay. It is not for systems that require a PCIe or M.2 interface. Buyers needing higher sequential throughput than 520 MB/s read or 485 MB/s write should evaluate other drive classes.

256-bit AES hardware encryption

The single specification that decides fit is the 256-bit AES encryption engine integrated into the controller. It secures data at rest without host CPU overhead. If your deployment does not mandate hardware encryption, a standard SATA SSD may meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 2.5" SATA drive in a hot-swap bay and what step is often missed?

Slide the drive into the hot-swap tray until the SATA connector seats firmly, then lock the tray latch; the step often missed is not pushing the tray fully home so the connector does not engage.

What maintenance or replacement will the 960 GB encrypted SSD need later?

The drive has no user-serviceable parts; plan replacement after the five-year limited warranty period or when SMART attributes indicate wear-out.

What limit appears first during sustained writes on the 485 MB/s SATA drive?

The sequential write ceiling of 485 MB/s is reached before thermal throttling on typical workloads.
