Compatible Black Toner for Xerox 6600 and 6605

This AYAGROUP cartridge replaces the 106R02228 original for the Phaser 6600 and Workcentre 6605. It is a new, single-pack laser toner rated for approximately 8000 pages at five percent coverage. Offices and home users who print mostly monochrome documents will find the yield matches the OEM specification. Buyers who need colour output or MICR encoding should look elsewhere.

Thermal and Power Behaviour in Normal Use

As a consumable toner cartridge, this unit generates no heat, draws no power and produces no audible noise of its own. All thermal load and acoustic output come from the printer engine during the fusing process. The cartridge simply supplies toner to the developer unit. There are no fans, pumps or electronic components to consider.

Build Integration and Clearances

The cartridge installs directly into the designated black slot of the compatible Xerox printers with no adapters or firmware steps required. It frees up budget compared with the genuine equivalent while maintaining the same page yield. Shops that stock multiple brands can standardise on this SKU for both the 6600 and 6605 models. No additional hardware or cabling is needed.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 106R02228 cartridge in my Xerox Phaser 6600, and which step do people often miss?

Open the front cover, pull the old black cartridge straight out, shake the new 106R02228 gently side-to-side five times, remove the orange protective cover fully, then slide it in until it clicks — the step most skip is the shaking, which spreads toner evenly for clean prints from page one.

What part will need replacement after the 8000-page yield is reached on this black toner?

The 106R02228 cartridge itself is the only consumable replaced at that point; the drum unit inside the Phaser 6600 or Workcentre 6605 is separate and lasts much longer, so you simply swap in a fresh compatible black toner when prints fade.

What limit appears first during long, continuous print runs with this cartridge?

The 8000-page yield at 5 % coverage is the first hard limit — once that toner volume is used, print density drops and the cartridge must be replaced, well before any mechanical wear in the printer becomes an issue.
