Lavalier microphone for bodypack systems

The Azden EX505U is a uni-directional lavalier microphone designed for speech capture with bodypack transmitters. It uses an electret condenser capsule that requires 5-9 VDC bias voltage supplied by the transmitter. A locking 4-pin connector secures the link to compatible Azden UHF bodypack units. The black finish keeps the microphone discreet on clothing.

Ideal for presenters and field recording

This microphone suits speakers, instructors and video crews who need a clip-on mic that rejects off-axis sound and feedback. It is not for users who need a stand-alone microphone with a 3.5 mm plug for cameras, recorders or PCs without a compatible bodypack transmitter. Buyers who require an omni-directional pickup pattern should look at a different model.

5-9 VDC bias voltage requirement

The electret condenser capsule only operates when the connected bodypack transmitter delivers 5-9 VDC bias power. All Azden bodypack transmitters provide this voltage. If your transmitter or recorder does not supply bias voltage in this range, the microphone will not function.

What comes with the EX505U and what must I provide separately?

The package includes the black uni-directional lavalier microphone with its 3.5mm connector; you must supply a compatible bodypack transmitter that delivers 5-9 VDC bias power.
