72mm Clear Protection Filter

The B+W 72mm Master Clear MRC Nano 007M is a colour-neutral glass filter designed to protect the front element of a lens without altering exposure or colour balance. It suits photographers and videographers who want permanent protection for lenses accepting a 72mm thread.

MRC Nano Coating Reduces Reflections

The Multi-Resistant Coating Nano layer cuts surface reflections to a minimum while repelling water, dust and dirt. This keeps the glass cleaner in normal shooting conditions and maintains high light transmission without measurable loss.

Thin Black Knurled Mount Aids Handling

A slim black knurled ring provides a secure grip when mounting or removing the filter, even with gloves. The low-profile design avoids vignetting on full-frame lenses down to 17mm focal length, and the filter ships in eco-friendly packaging with a QR code for authenticity verification.

Questions about this item

How do I fit the 72mm Master Clear filter onto my lens without cross-threading the thin black knurled mount?

Screw the filter on by turning the knurled brass ring only, not the glass face, until it seats flush; the thin profile means threads engage quickly, so start it square to the lens barrel.

Will the MRC Nano coating need re-application or can it wear off over time?

The coating is baked into the glass surface and does not wear off; cleaning with a microfibre cloth and lens fluid keeps the water- and dirt-repellent properties intact.

At what focal length does vignetting first appear on a full-frame sensor with this filter in place?

Vignetting stays absent down to 17 mm on full frame; wider angles will show corner shading because the filter ring extends slightly into the image circle.
