Baader Planetarium 2" / T-2 Nose Piece (T2-16)

SKU CH-9M1F-KFEF8

Connects 2" focusers to T-2 accessories with a 48mm filter thread and recessed safety groove

  • Versatile telescope connection with 2" focuser and T-2 thread integration
  • Standard filter use enabled by 48 mm filter thread for enhanced imaging contrast
  • Secure accessory mounting via recessed groove prevents accidental slippage during sessions
  • Low-profile design achieved through removable stop ring allows full insertion into 2" barrels
  • Precision-machined construction ensures minimal de-centering for consistent optical performance

Versatile Telescope Adapter

The Baader Planetarium 2" / T-2 Nose Piece connects 2-inch focusers to T-2 threaded accessories for astronomy and astrophotography setups. It integrates a removable stop ring that allows the barrel to slip fully inside 2-inch receivers for a lower profile. Precision machining on the external diameter ensures a secure fit with minimal play or de-centering during use.

For Filter And Camera Users

This adapter suits observers and imagers who need a stable link between a 2-inch focuser and equipment using 48mm filter threads or internal T-2 threads. The recessed groove adds a safety catch against accidental slippage of expensive cameras or eyepieces. Buyers requiring a different barrel diameter or thread standard should look at other connection hardware.

Dual Thread Specification

The nose piece provides a 48mm filter thread on the exterior and a nested internal T-2 thread for direct camera attachment. This dual-thread design expands compatibility across a wide range of astronomical accessories without additional adapters. The T2-16 model number identifies this specific dual-thread configuration.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need to buy any filters or adapters separately?

The nose piece includes a removable stop ring and provides a 48mm filter thread plus an internal T-2 thread; filters and T-2 accessories are sold separately.

Should I choose this model for a 2" focuser or for a T-2 imaging train?

It fits both — the 2" barrel slides into standard focusers while the internal T-2 thread accepts cameras or adapters with a T-2 connection.

How does the 48mm filter thread affect image quality when the nose piece is in the light path?

The 48mm thread accepts standard filters without vignetting, and the precision-machined barrel with recessed groove keeps the optical axis centred for sharp results.
