12 V SATA Power Limit

The system runs on DC 12 V supplied through a SATA plug, so it cannot operate from a 5 V header or a motherboard RGB connector. The 4.32 W total draw is modest, but the controller only accepts the bundled SATA cable. Users without a free SATA power lead cannot connect the kit.

Magnetic Mount on Iron Only

Strong NdFeB magnets hold the strips and the control box cables to any ferrous surface, removing the need for adhesive on the LED strips themselves. The control box uses a separate foam-tape pad that must stick to a clean metal panel. The infrared receiver on the box needs line of sight to the remote, so a closed solid side panel will block signals unless a window or vent is present.
