The Banner MIAD9DQ is a rectangular diffuse proximity sensor with an M18 mounting barrel. It operates on a 5-15 V dc supply and provides a NAMUR constant-current output through an integral M12 4-pin quick-disconnect. The infrared LED beam detects objects up to 380 mm away, making it suitable for industrial automation and hazardous-area installations.

Range 380 mm and Environmental Headroom

The sensor reliably detects targets within its 380 mm maximum sensing distance and responds in 5 ms. It functions across a -40 to 70 °C temperature range and withstands 90 % relative humidity at 50 °C. The IP67 and NEMA 1, 2, 3, 3S, 4, 4X, 6, 12, 13 ratings protect against dust, water immersion, and washdown environments. Applications requiring longer range or faster response will need a different model.

Integral M12 Connector and Potentiometer Adjustment

The built-in M12 4-pin Euro quick-disconnect simplifies wiring and replacement in the field. A potentiometer on the housing allows manual sensitivity adjustment for the diffuse sensing mode. The unit is encapsulated for durability and carries intrinsic safety approval for hazardous locations. No remote teach, timing functions, or IO-Link communication are provided.
