Mini-Beam Retroreflective Sensor

The Banner MIAD9LV is a rectangular retroreflective sensor with an M18 mount and a visible red LED beam. It operates on a 5-15 V dc supply and provides a NAMUR constant-current output over a 2 m cable. The housing is thermoplastic with an acrylic lens and achieves IP67 and multiple NEMA ratings including 4X, 6 and 13.

Sensing Range and Interface Limits

The sensor detects targets up to 5000 mm away in non-polarized retroreflective mode. Its NAMUR output requires a compatible intrinsically safe barrier or amplifier and is not a standard logic-level signal. Response time is 5 ms, and the unit functions from -40 °C to 70 °C with up to 90 % relative humidity at 50 °C. No quick-disconnect option is fitted.

Replaces Older Mini-Beam Units

This model suits installations that need a compact M18 rectangular body with a 2 m integral cable and NAMUR signalling for hazardous-area approval. It is not suited for applications requiring polarised retroreflective sensing, IO-Link communication, remote teach-in or a quick-disconnect fitting.
