Laser contrast sensor for 100 mm detection

The Banner Q3XTBLD100-Q8 is a rectangular laser diffuse sensor with background suppression designed for precise presence detection at a fixed 100 mm range. It operates on 10 to 30 V dc and provides both NPN and PNP discrete outputs through an integral M12 5-pin Euro connector. The Class 2 visible red laser produces a small spot at 655 nm wavelength for reliable targeting in automated equipment.

The nickel-plated barrel with 18 mm diameter and acrylic lens withstands wash-down and high-pressure cleaning while maintaining operation from minus 10 to 50 degrees Celsius at up to 95 percent relative humidity at 55 degrees Celsius. A 1000 ms power-up delay and 0.25 ms output response time support consistent cycling without thermal overload. The sensor draws power only from the supplied dc voltage with no additional cooling required.

Remote teach and bipolar outputs simplify

A teach button on the housing and remote teach capability allow quick set-up without opening the enclosure. Light-on or dark-on operation is selectable to match the control logic. The bipolar output stage delivers both sinking and sourcing signals from a single device, reducing the need for separate sensor variants in spare-parts inventory.
