Rugged Laser Distance Sensor

The Banner Q4XTBLAF300-Q8 is a stainless-steel proximity sensor with background and foreground suppression. It operates on 10-30 V dc and uses a visible red Class 1 laser at 655 nm. The rectangular housing includes an M18 mount and an integral M12 quick-disconnect with five pins. It is suited for industrial automation and machine-safety applications.

Sensing Range and Repeatability Limits

The sensor detects targets from 25 mm to 300 mm. Discrete repeatability is ±0.5 mm between 25 mm and 50 mm, and ±1% of range from 50 mm to 300 mm. Temperature effect is ±0.05 mm/°C up to 125 mm and ±0.35 mm/°C at 300 mm. A 750 ms power-up delay applies before the output is valid.

Bipolar Switched Output

The device provides both NPN and PNP discrete outputs rated at 100 mA maximum. NPN saturation voltage is below 1.0 V and PNP saturation voltage is below 1.5 V at full load. Adjustments are made by push button or remote teach. Buyers who need an analog output or a longer sensing distance cannot use this sensor.
