Compact ultrasonic sensor for short-range detection

The Banner QS18UNA is an 18 mm rectangular sensor with an M18 mounting thread and a 2 m cable. It operates on 12-30 V dc supply and provides a single NPN discrete output rated at 100 mA. The housing uses ABS material with LED indicators for status.

TEACH button simplifies range setup

Pressing the TEACH button sets the switching point between the 50 mm minimum and 500 mm maximum sensing distance. Analog resolution and discrete repeatability are specified at 0.7 mm. The sensor powers up in 300 ms and requires no PC configuration.

50-500 mm sensing range defines the application fit

Time-of-flight ultrasonic measurement covers targets from 50 mm to 500 mm. Temperature drift is +/- 0.05% per °C from -20 °C to +50 °C and +/- 0.1% per °C up to +60 °C. Vibration and shock ratings meet MIL-STD-202F Method 201A and IEC 60947-5-2 30G half-sine requirements.
