Ultrasonic Sensor 50-500 mm Range

The Banner QS18UPA is a high-speed ultrasonic proximity sensor designed for industrial automation and electrician applications. It detects objects within a 50 mm to 500 mm sensing range using time-of-flight measurement. The rectangular ABS housing features an M18 mounting thread and a fixed 2 m cable for direct connection. It operates on a 12-30 V dc power supply.

100 mA PNP Output Headroom

The sensor provides a single PNP discrete output rated for a maximum switched current of 100 mA with a saturation voltage below 2.0 V. Output protection guards against short circuits and overload conditions. Repeatability is specified at 0.7 mm. The temperature effect is +/- 0.05% of sensing distance per °C from -20 °C to +50 °C and +/- 0.1% from +50 °C to +60 °C.

Teach Button Adjustment Method

Setup is performed via an integrated teach button rather than PC configuration. This allows quick range definition in the field without software tools. A 300 ms power-up delay applies before the output becomes active. The sensor meets MIL-STD-202F vibration and IEC 60947-5-2 mechanical shock standards for durability in harsh environments.
