The Banner QS18VN6LVQ8 is a retroreflective photoelectric sensor designed for industrial detection tasks. It operates on a 10 to 30 V dc supply and provides a complementary solid-state NPN output. The housing uses an M18 mounting style with an integral M12 quick-disconnect connector.

Limits of Retroreflective Sensing

The sensor achieves a maximum sensing distance of 6500 mm using a visible red LED beam at 630 nm wavelength. Non-polarised retroreflective mode requires a suitable reflector target to return the beam. Output response time is 0.6 ms with repeatability of 150 µs, and a 100 ms power-up delay applies before the output stabilises.
