It suits automation engineers and maintenance technicians who need a discrete NPN output device for presence sensing in industrial environments. The rectangular ABS housing mounts via an 18 mm barrel and carries an IP67 and NEMA 6 rating for wash-down duty.

Range and operating limits

The unit detects an opposed emitter up to 20000 mm away while powered from a 10-30 V dc supply. It operates reliably between -20 °C and 70 °C with up to 95 % relative humidity at 50 °C. The complementary solid-state NPN output switches in 0.75 ms on and 0.375 ms off, and the sensor powers up within 100 ms. Repeatability is specified at 100 µs.

Connection and output type

An integral M12 Euro-style quick-disconnect connector with four pins provides the sole electrical interface. The receiver delivers a discrete NPN signal configured for light or dark operation selectable at installation. No remote teach, timing functions, IO-Link or DeviceNet connectivity are included.
