All-Purpose Photoelectric Sensor

The Banner QS18VP6LDQ8 is a WORLD-BEAM QS18 series sensor designed for industrial detection tasks. It suits electricians and automation technicians who need a reliable diffuse proximity device for presence sensing on conveyors or machinery.

300 mm Laser Diffuse Range

The sensing distance is fixed at 300 mm using a visible red Class 1 laser spot. The complementary solid-state PNP output switches on a 10-30 V dc supply, so the part only fits systems that accept that voltage window and PNP logic.

M18 Mount with Euro Connector

The rectangular ABS housing uses an M18 thread for panel mounting and terminates in a 4-pin M12 Euro-style quick-disconnect. Wiring errors are the usual issue; verify the pinout matches the controller before applying power.

Questions about this item

How far can this sensor reliably detect an object in a real installation?

The sensor detects objects up to 300 mm away using a visible red laser in diffuse mode, with a small visible spot for precise targeting.

What does the 10-30 V dc input and PNP output mean for wiring and PLC compatibility?

It operates on any 10-30 V dc supply and provides complementary solid-state PNP outputs, switching the load to the positive rail for standard PLC inputs.

What mounting hardware and clearance does the rectangular M18 housing require?

The rectangular housing uses an M18 threaded mount and connects via an integral 4-pin M12 Euro-style quick-disconnect connector.
