The Banner QS18VP6XLPQ is a retroreflective sensor designed to detect transparent or translucent targets at distances up to 3000 mm. It operates on a 10-30 V dc supply and provides complementary PNP discrete outputs for direct PLC or controller integration. The rectangular ABS housing fits an M18 mount and carries NEMA 6 and IP67 ratings for harsh industrial environments. This unit suits packaging, bottling and material-handling lines that require reliable clear-object sensing.

Sustained-load behaviour in industrial conditions

The sensor maintains specified performance across a -20 °C to 70 °C temperature range and up to 95 % relative humidity at 50 °C. A 0.5 ms output response time and 100 µs repeatability ensure consistent switching during continuous high-speed operation. The 100 ms power-up delay prevents false triggers during system start-up. Potentiometer adjustment allows fine-tuning of the sensing threshold without interrupting the production cycle.

Polarized coaxial optics with M8 pigtail connection

The sensing beam uses a visible red LED at 625 nm wavelength in a polarized coaxial arrangement that suppresses glare from shiny surfaces. Connection is via a 150 mm pigtail terminated with a four-pin M8 Pico quick-disconnect for rapid installation and replacement. The lens is PMMA and the housing is fully encapsulated to meet NEMA 6 and IP67 ingress protection. No remote teach, IO-Link or DeviceNet functions are provided.
