Guard Locking Switch for Safety Circuits

The Banner SI-LS42DMMJF is a solenoid-locking safety switch rated for 24 V ac/dc operation. It provides three normally closed safety contacts and one normally closed monitoring contact. The thermoplastic housing meets IP67 and achieves PL e, SIL CL 3 and Category 4 ratings. It is built for machine-guarding applications that require power-to-lock actuation.

Integrated Wiring Chamber and Actuator

The unit includes a built-in wiring chamber so cables terminate directly inside the housing. A flexible in-line actuator tolerates misalignment on hinged doors down to 150 mm width. Power-lock operation holds the guard shut until the solenoid is energised, delivering an extraction force of 1500 N. No auxiliary outputs or ISD cascading are provided.

Environmental and Life Limits

Operating temperature spans -25 °C to 70 °C and the washdown-rated enclosure withstands high-pressure cleaning. Mechanical life is rated at 1 million operations with a B10d of 2 million cycles. In-rush power reaches 12 VA for 0.2 s before settling at 4.4 VA continuous. The switch is not suited for applications needing coded actuators, auxiliary signals or cascade wiring.
