Ultrasonic Sensor for Distance Measurement

The Banner T30UXIBQ8 is an ultrasonic proximity sensor that detects objects from 200 mm to 2000 mm using a time-of-flight sensing beam. It operates on a 10 to 30V dc supply and provides a 4 to 20 mA analog current output. The red PBT barrel housing carries an M12 Euro-style quick-disconnect and includes LED indicators for status.

Integration into Control Systems

The sensor requires a 10 to 30V dc power source and a 4-pin M12 cable to connect the analog output to a PLC or controller input card. A teach button on the housing allows range setup without a PC. The 500 ms power-up delay means the output stabilises quickly after supply voltage is applied. The 1 kΩ maximum load at 24V dc fits standard analog input modules.

Replacing Older Analog Sensors

This unit upgrades installations that use legacy ultrasonic or photoelectric sensors lacking temperature compensation. The 0.02% per °C temperature effect reduces drift across environmental changes. It suits applications needing a 4 to 20 mA signal over a 200 mm to 2 m span. It does not serve discrete switching needs requiring NPN or PNP outputs or setups demanding PC-configurable parameters.
