BARSKA 40mm Varmint Riflescope Sunshade AF11550

SKU CH-GC8Y-0QYJR

A 3-inch sunshade for 40mm Varmint riflescopes reduces glare and improves image contrast

  • Reduces glare on 40mm objective lenses
  • Improves image contrast in bright conditions
  • Enhances overall clarity for varmint scopes
  • Three-inch tube blocks direct sun exposure
  • Compatible with Varmint Riflescope models

Purpose and compatibility

The Barska 40mm Varmint Riflescope Sunshade attaches to Varmint Riflescopes with 40mm objective lenses. It is intended for shooters who need to limit stray light entering the optic during daytime use.

Effect on optical performance

The three-inch tube reduces sun exposure on the front lens element. By cutting glare it increases clarity and raises image contrast so target edges remain distinct in bright conditions.

Build and daily handling

The accessory mounts directly to the scope’s objective bell without additional tools. Its compact profile adds minimal length, keeping the riflescope balance familiar while shielding the glass from incidental contact and environmental debris.

Questions about this item

Will the 40 mm sunshade need any cleaning or parts replacement over time?

The aluminium tube only requires occasional lens-cloth cleaning; no internal parts wear out and no replacement components are needed.

What stops me from stacking another shade on the AF11550?

The single 3-inch thread depth accepts one shade; adding a second would vignette the 40 mm objective.

Does the shade change heat build-up or glare when the scope sits in direct sun all day?

It blocks direct rays from the front lens, lowering surface temperature and cutting glare without adding weight or power draw.
