Kenwood speaker microphone

The BatteryJack portable speaker microphone connects to compatible Kenwood two-way radios and provides clear audio for voice communication. It is built for handheld use in marine, automotive or general outdoor environments. A rotating clip and lightweight construction make it easy to carry during extended shifts.

Suits Kenwood handheld owners

This microphone suits operators who need a replacement or spare mic for the listed Kenwood TK models. It is not for users of other radio brands or for fixed-mount base stations that require a different connector type. Buyers needing a headset-style earpiece or a waterproof-rated microphone should look elsewhere.

Drop-tested durability

The unit is rated to survive six drops from six feet on all six sides without breakage or loss of function. This ruggedness is the key specification that determines whether the microphone will withstand daily field use.

Questions about this item

What Kenwood radio models does this speaker microphone connect to?

It is compatible with Kenwood TK series models including the TK-208, TK-220, TK-240, TK-270, TK-340, TK-373, TK-2102, TK-3102, TK-2170, TK-3170, TK-2202, TK-3202 and many other listed variants.

How do you attach the microphone to your gear, and what step is often missed?

The unit has a rotating clip that fastens to a strap or belt; the step users miss is rotating the clip to the desired angle before tightening it, otherwise the mic hangs awkwardly.

What part of this microphone will need replacement first with heavy use?

The coiled cord is the component most likely to wear out over time, so expect to replace the cable assembly if it becomes stretched or the connectors loosen.
