Purpose-built power for Motorola radios

The Tank NTN9858 is a 2700mAh Ni-MH battery delivering 7.5V for Motorola XTS1500, XTS2500 and PR1500 two-way radios. It replaces the original HNN9858MH pack and includes a belt clip for secure attachment. Public-safety and industrial users get a direct-fit power source built for daily duty cycles.

Replaces ageing or lower-capacity packs

Swapping a depleted original cell for this 2700mAh unit restores full shift runtime without modifying the radio. The jump is worth it when talk time has fallen below operational requirements or when the existing pack no longer holds a charge through a full roster period. Users who need extended capacity beyond 2700mAh should verify compatibility before ordering.

Engineered for sustained field abuse

The housing survives six drops from six feet onto all six faces without cracking or losing output, so repeated impacts on concrete or asphalt do not interrupt communications. Cells are selected for consistent voltage delivery across long transmit cycles rather than brief bench peaks. The 18-month warranty period reflects the manufacturer’s confidence in that durability.

Questions about this item

Does the NTN9858 battery clip onto the Motorola XTS 1500 without extra hardware?

Yes, the NTN9858 includes a clip that attaches directly to the XTS 1500, XTS 2500, PR 1500 and MT 1500 radios.

What is the correct orientation when sliding the 7.5 V pack onto the radio?

Align the battery rails with the radio grooves and press firmly until the latch clicks; inserting it upside-down prevents the latch from engaging.

When should the 2700 mAh Ni-MH pack be replaced?

Replace the pack when talk time drops noticeably below a full shift or after roughly 18 months of daily charge cycles.
