Pack of 12 Retractable Badge Reels

This Baumgartens 68844 pack contains twelve black retractable reels designed for ID cards and security badges. Each unit features a spring-loaded cord that extends to 30 inches and retracts automatically. The reels are manufactured using 40% post-consumer waste plastic. They keep credentials visible and secured to the wearer throughout the day.

Simple Clip-On Attachment

Each reel includes a built-in belt or pocket clip for immediate use without tools or adhesives. The compact plastic housing measures 5.5 by 2 by 0.75 inches, adding minimal bulk to clothing. The spring mechanism is sealed inside the round casing; if the cord fails to retract, the entire unit must be replaced as it is not user-serviceable.

30-Inch Extension Length

The critical specification is the 30-inch nylon cord reach, which determines how far the badge can be presented from the clipped position. Buyers needing a longer tether for high-mounted readers or specific ergonomic requirements should verify this length suits their access-control layout before purchasing.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 30 inch retractable cord extends and retracts smoothly after attaching the ID card?

Pull the badge gently to the full 30 inch length and release; the spring mechanism should snap the reel back flush against the clip without slack or sticking.

What comes in the pack of 12 and is any extra hardware needed for the belt clip?

The box contains twelve black plastic reels each with an integrated spring clip; no separate clips, fasteners or tools are required.

Which reel length should I choose for standard badge access panels?

The 30 inch extension lets you reach wall readers while the reel stays clipped to your belt or pocket.
