Welding Gloves with Gauntlet Cuff
The BDG 64-1-1065C-12 gloves are leather hand protection built for welding and hot-work tasks. They feature a straight thumb and full-finger coverage in a premium leather construction. The gauntlet cuff extends to 14 1/4 in for added forearm shielding. Sold as a single pair for left and right hands.
Limits of Unlined Leather Protection
The unlined design offers no thermal barrier beyond the leather itself, so prolonged contact with very hot metal can transfer heat to the skin. Polyester stitching may degrade faster than Kevlar thread under intense UV or splatter exposure. The gloves carry California Proposition 65 warnings for cancer and reproductive-harm chemicals. They are not rated for a minimum temperature.
Straight Thumb Determines Grip Style
The straight thumb pattern aligns the thumb with the index finger, which suits flat workpiece handling and stick welding but reduces dexterity for TIG torch manipulation. Buyers who need a wing or keystone thumb for tighter fingertip control should select a different glove style.

Questions about this item
What does the 14 1/4 in glove length mean for wrist and forearm coverage?
The 14 1/4 in length extends well past the wrist, and the gauntlet cuff adds extra protection for the lower forearm during welding tasks.
How does the straight-thumb design affect grip and dexterity while welding?
The straight thumb aligns naturally with the hand, giving a secure grip on torches and rods while maintaining enough flexibility for precise control.
What protection does the gauntlet cuff provide compared with a shorter cuff?
The gauntlet cuff covers the wrist and lower forearm, shielding skin from sparks, spatter and heat that a short cuff would leave exposed.
