Replacement battery for Gram 2018 series

This 72W lithium-ion unit operates at 7.7V and matches part numbers LBS1224E and 2ICP6/45/114-2. It fits the 13Z980, 14Z980, 15Z980 and 17Z990 models released in 2018. The battery is supplied new and carries a 12 month warranty.

Steady output during extended sessions

Lithium-ion chemistry delivers consistent voltage across the discharge cycle rather than a sharp drop near empty. The 72W capacity supports long work periods away from mains power without sudden shutdowns. Cell balancing maintains stable performance over repeated charge cycles.

Verify your exact model code before ordering

The compatibility list includes many sub-variants such as 13Z990-V.AA53C, 15Z980-G.AA75C and 17Z990-V.AA75C. Confirm the full alphanumeric code on your current battery or laptop chassis matches one of the listed part numbers. Installers should also check connector orientation and screw-hole alignment before fitting.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 7.7V 72W lithium-ion battery generate during all-day use?

The 7.7V lithium-ion pack produces only modest warmth under normal load; it has no active cooling and relies on the laptop chassis to dissipate heat.

What must I already own to install the LBS1224E 2ICP6/45/114-2 battery?

You need a compatible LG Gram 2018 series notebook — such as a 13Z980, 14Z980, 15Z980 or 17Z990 — and a small Phillips screwdriver to open the base cover.

Will the 72W replacement battery work alongside the original 2018 Gram motherboard and charging circuit?

Yes, the 7.7V 72W cell matches the factory voltage and connector, so the existing charging IC recognises it without BIOS updates or hardware changes.
