BELKIN RT301 USB Mouse Jiggler

The BELKIN RT301 is a tiny USB device that keeps a computer awake by simulating subtle cursor movement. It is recognised as a standard mouse so it works without drivers on Windows 7, 8, 10, 11, Mac and Linux systems. Office workers and remote users can plug it in to prevent sleep during long reads or video calls.

Sustained operation with a single movement mode

The jiggler runs a single mode that shifts the cursor one pixel every 20 seconds, alternating direction after many cycles. This slow, continuous action maintains an active status in Teams, Zoom, Skype and similar apps without interrupting normal mouse use. It requires no software configuration and continues indefinitely while powered.

Thermals noise and power draw in normal use

The unit draws minimal bus power from the USB port and produces no audible noise because it has no moving parts. Its ABS plastic shell stays at ambient temperature during continuous operation. The compact 14.5 by 22 by 6 mm form factor leaves adjacent ports accessible on laptops and desktops.

Questions about this item

Does the RT301 draw enough power to warm up a laptop USB port during all-day use?

The device only sends a single pixel movement every 20 seconds, so its power draw is minimal and will not noticeably heat a USB port.

Must the host computer have a free USB-A port for the RT301 to work?

Yes, the jiggler plugs directly into a standard USB-A port and requires no additional cables or adapters.

Will the RT301 interfere with a legacy PS/2 mouse connected through an active USB adapter?

The RT301 is recognised as a standard HID mouse device, so it co-exists with other pointing devices including adapted PS/2 hardware.
