What this cable does

This Belkin Samsung Gala cable delivers up to 240 W of Power Delivery charging through a magnetic USB-C connector. It suits owners of Google Pixel phones, Samsung Galaxy handsets and USB-C laptops who want a detachable tip that stays in the port.

The deciding spec

The 16-pin flat magnetic head carries an E-Marker 2.0 chip with 56 kilo-ohm resistance, enabling the full 240 W rating and 480 Mbps USB 2.0 data transfer. Cables without this chip cannot negotiate the higher power profile.

Heat, noise and draw

The cable runs at 5 V or 20 V depending on the negotiated profile and stays cool during typical charging sessions. No active cooling is present so operation is silent. Power draw peaks at 240 W only when the host and device both support that level.
