What this adapter does

This Belkin USB-C to HDMI adapter connects a compatible laptop, tablet or phone to an external monitor, TV or projector. It supports mirror and extended display modes with audio and video sent together over a single cable. No driver installation is required.

Check your USB-C port first

The adapter only works with USB-C or Thunderbolt ports that carry a Display signal. Ports used solely for charging or data will not output video. Verify that your device’s USB-C specification includes video alt-mode before ordering.

Suits single-display setups on supported devices

Ideal for users who want a simple plug-and-play link to one 4K 30 Hz screen from a listed MacBook, iPad Pro, Chromebook, XPS or Surface model. Not for buyers who need higher refresh rates at 4K, multiple external displays from one port, or compatibility with USB-C ports that lack video output.

Questions about this item

Does the Belkin USB C to HDMI Adapter include any cables or do I need to buy an HDMI cable separately?

The adapter itself is the only item included; an HDMI cable to connect your monitor or TV must be purchased separately.

Which resolution and refresh rate should I expect when I connect a 4K display to this adapter?

The adapter supports up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz; lower resolutions such as 2K at 60 Hz or 1080p at 120 Hz are also available.

Will the adapter deliver 4K 30 Hz on any USB C port or only on ports with video output?

It requires a USB C or Thunderbolt 3/4 port that carries a Display protocol; ports used only for charging or data will not work.
