Flexible bedside projector

The BenQ GV50 is a 500 lumen laser projector with native 1080p resolution and 4K signal support. Its integrated tripod base enables 135° vertical tilt and 360° horizontal rotation for ceiling or wall projection from a bedside table. Google TV provides direct access to certified Netflix and other streaming apps. A 2.1-channel 18W speaker system delivers audio without external hardware.

Upgrade from fixed-position portables

This model replaces projectors that require a flat surface or separate mount for angled viewing. The motorised base and four smart sensors handle auto-focus, 2D keystone correction up to ±40°, obstacle avoidance and frame matching automatically. The jump is worth it when you regularly watch from bed or move the unit between rooms and need instant, square images without manual adjustment.

Limits of the DLP laser platform

Brightness is rated below 1000 lumens, so ambient light reduces contrast despite the 100,000:1 specification. Native resolution is 1920×1080; 3840×2160 input is accepted but down-scaled. Throw ratio of 1.2 means a 120-inch image needs roughly three metres of distance. Horizontal scan range 15–135 kHz and vertical 22–62 Hz may not sync with every PC timing.
