throw DLP projector for business

The BenQ MX816ST is a new DLP business projector with 3,000 ANSI lumens and a native 1,024 x 768 resolution. Its short-throw lens produces a 40-inch to 300-inch image from a short distance, making it suited to classrooms and small meeting rooms. Connectivity includes HDMI, VGA, USB and wired network ports. The unit weighs 6.2 lbs and measures 4.49 x 11.30 x 9.16 inches.

Suited to 4:3 presentations in tight spaces

This model suits users who need a bright 4:3 image in rooms where the projector must sit close to the screen. The 13,000:1 contrast ratio and 3D-ready support help with detailed slides and video. Buyers who require a native widescreen resolution, wireless casting or lens shift should look at other models. The lamp has 1,500 hours or less on a 6,500-hour rating.

Native XGA resolution decides fit

The single specification that decides suitability is the native 1,024 x 768 XGA resolution. Content authored in 4:3 fills the screen without scaling, while widescreen sources are letterboxed or compressed. If your workflow depends on native 1080p or wider aspect ratios, this projector will not match that requirement.
