BenQ SP930 280W projector lamp

The BenQ SP930 is a new 280W replacement projector lamp module that includes a genuine Osram P-VIP bulb pre-assembled in its housing. It is designed for owners of compatible BenQ projectors who need a direct replacement without separate bulb handling. The lamp delivers up to 2,000 hours of life in normal mode and up to 3,000 hours in economy mode. This unit corresponds to BenQ model number 9E.0C101.001.

Installation and common issues

The module arrives fully assembled, so installation consists of removing the old lamp unit and inserting this one without touching the bulb glass. Because the housing is included, alignment is straightforward and no specialised tools are required. Problems usually arise if the projector’s lamp timer is not reset after fitting, or if the lamp door interlock switch is not fully engaged. Handling the bulb with bare fingers can also shorten its lifespan due to oil residue.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This lamp suits users who want a ready-to-fit OEM module with a genuine Osram P-VIP bulb and the rated 2,000 to 3,000 hour service life. It is not intended for projectors that use a different lamp code or wattage, nor for buyers who want a bare bulb without the housing. Users needing a higher-wattage lamp or a different connector layout should verify their projector’s service manual before ordering.

What comes with the SP930 lamp module and what must I source separately?
