4K HDR projector for bright rooms

The BenQ W4100i-R is a refurbished business projector that delivers 3840 x 2160 resolution with a 4-LED light source rated at 3200 ANSI lumens. It supports HDR10+ and HLG for expanded dynamic range. An Android TV streaming dongle, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in for direct content access.

Home cinema and presentation users

This unit suits viewers who need high brightness for rooms with ambient light and want native 4K without a separate media player. Buyers who require a laser light source or motorised lens shift should consider other models. The throw ratio of 1.15 to 1.5:1 limits placement flexibility in very small or very large spaces.

Three HDMI 2.1 inputs with eARC

Connectivity centres on three HDMI 2.1 ports plus one internal HDMI 2.0b, all supporting HDCP 2.3, ALLM and eARC for modern gaming consoles and AV receivers. Vertical and horizontal lens shift plus keystone correction simplify alignment. This port count and HDMI version determine whether the projector fits your source chain.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the refurbished BenQ W4100i-R projector?

The package includes the projector unit, an Android TV streaming dongle, and built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. No separate streaming device is required.

Which brightness figure should I rely on for a bright conference room — 3200 ANSI Lumens or the >3500 lumens spec?

Use the 3200 ANSI Lumens rating; it is the standardised measurement. The >3500 lumens value is a separate specification and not directly comparable.

Will the 1.15 to 1.5:1 throw ratio let me fill a 3840 x 2160 image from a ceiling mount three metres back?

At three metres the throw ratio produces an image width of roughly two to 2.6 metres, so a 4K picture will fit comfortably from that distance.
