Front-panel hub for desktop builds
The BESIGN G-MP01CR occupies a 3.5-inch drive bay to add two USB-C ports, two USB 3.0 ports, an SD slot and a microSD slot. It is intended for PC builders who want fast front-panel access without using rear motherboard ports.
Requires USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-E header
Full 20 Gbps speed on the USB-C ports is only available when the motherboard provides a 20-pin USB 3.2 Key-A Type-E header. A 19-pin USB 3.0 header can be used instead, but the USB-C ports will then run at lower speeds.
SATA power and card-orientation note
A 15-pin SATA power connector must be connected for the hub to function. The SD card slot requires the card to be inserted label-side down, which differs from many other readers.

Questions about this item
What does the 20 Gbps rating mean when I connect a drive to the front USB-C port?
The port runs at USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 so a compatible drive can reach the full 20 Gbps; with a standard USB-C cable the link will operate at up to 10 Gbps instead.
Which motherboard header does the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 connection require and what speed does it cap at?
It needs a 20-pin USB 3.2 Key-A Type-E header and delivers up to 20 Gbps when that header is present.
What internal connectors and bay size are needed to install the unit?
It fits a 3.5-inch bay and requires a 19-pin USB 3.0 header, a 20-pin USB 3.2 Key-A Type-E header and a 15-pin SATA power connector.
