Questions about this item
Does the lock generate any noise or heat when used continuously throughout the day?
The mechanical lock has no motor or electronics, so it produces no heat and only the normal click of the latch and cylinder during each use.
What tools or door preparations are required before this knob can be installed?
You need a long No.2 Phillips screwdriver and a door pre-drilled for a 60 mm or 70 mm backset with a thickness between 35 mm and 45 mm.
Will the 3-bar latch mechanism work with an older mortise pocket or non-standard strike plate already on the door frame?
This set uses a standard tubular latch for 60 mm or 70 mm backsets; it is not compatible with mortise pockets or non-standard strike preparations.
