Outdoor 50 ft extension cord

This 50 ft outdoor extension cord uses 16/3 gauge wiring with three pure copper conductors. It is rated for 125 V, 13 A and 1625 W and carries ETL listing. The cord suits garden tools, holiday lighting and general home power needs.

SJTW jacket limits

The SJTW jacket resists water, sunlight and abrasion for outdoor durability. The 16 gauge conductors set a practical limit of 13 A over the full 50 ft length. Exceeding this rating risks voltage drop and overheating during sustained loads.

13 A current rating

The 13 A rating is the single figure that decides if this cord matches your equipment. Check the nameplate on each tool or appliance before connecting. Devices drawing more than 13 A require a heavier gauge cord.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 16/3 50 ft version or a shorter length for my garden tools?

The 16/3 50 ft cord is rated 13 A and 1625 W at 125 V, so it suits most garden equipment; choose a shorter run only if you need less reach.

What does the 13 A 1625 W rating mean when I plug in a lawn mower?

It means the cord can safely deliver up to 13 amps or 1625 watts continuously, matching typical 125 V lawn mowers and leaf blowers.

The cord uses NEMA 5-15P and 5-15R — what does that limit in practice?

Those standard 15 A household plugs cap the cord at the 13 A rating printed on the jacket, so it works with any normal wall outlet.
