Questions about this item

How do I install the 4.7 inch gas lift cylinder and what step is often missed?

Remove the old cylinder from the base and seat mechanism, then press the new unit into both tapered sockets until fully seated; the step often missed is verifying the 11.4 inch compressed and 16.1 inch extended lengths match the chair before final assembly.

What maintenance or replacement will this cylinder need after extended use?

The cylinder is rated for 120000 lift cycles under BIFMA testing; after this limit the internal seals may wear, requiring full cylinder replacement as no user-serviceable parts exist.

What limit appears first during sustained heavy use of this 1000Lbs rated cylinder?

The 120000 cycle durability rating is the first limit under frequent height adjustments; exceeding it risks seal fatigue and pressure loss before the structural 1000Lbs capacity is reached.
