Large 48 x 24 Inch Work Surface

The mat provides a conductive area measuring 48 by 24 inches for soldering, PC building and repair of ESD-sensitive devices such as smartphones, tablets and circuit boards. Both sides conduct with a surface resistance of 10^3 to 10^5 ohms and the front face features an anti-slip dotted texture. The rubber material is non-toxic, flexible, durable and can be cleaned with water.

Grounding Kit Integration

A US grounding plug with insulated live and neutral pins connects only to the earth conductor and includes a 1M ohm resistor per connection to limit fault current below .3 mA at 240 volts. Two 10 mm male studs on the mat accept the supplied grounding cord, wrist strap and bracelet to bring the workstation and operator to the same earth potential. Resistance from each connector to the earth pin should read between .9 and 1.1M ohms; between connectors it measures approximately 2M ohms.

Sustained ESD Protection

The sealed grounding plug cannot be opened for repair but is tested before packing to verify the protective resistors remain intact.
